22/09/2007: New Game NOT Confirmed
Today on Ashley woods official blog it was officially confirmed that Konami and himself would be working together to create a new game.
"We are told as of this moment that the MGS MPO 2 (Mobile portable ops2) for the PSP will be going ahead soon. This is definitely a scoop (You heard it here first!) and we are happy to confirm that Ash will once again be teaming up with Konami and the all of the crew at Team Kojima for this project."
This is some what of a surprise as Ashley recently stated that he was not going to do anymore mgs comics after MGS2 is finished...
UPDATE: Dispite this great news Konami have posted an official statement with this reply by Ryan Payton:
"Thought I'd jump in before this spirals out of control. Not really sure what's going on with that blog, but maybe they were referring to Ash's work on the MGS2 digital graphic novel? Nobody wants MPO2 more than me, but we're not developing it right now."
Its sad to read but with all things considered and the success of MPO in Japan its only a matter of time before the sequal is officially announced.
