The game you all wanted on the stores the moment they announced PSone games would be on the Playstation Store is finally here!
Announced in this weeks Famitsu magazine, the game is PS3/PSP compatable and is so far only confirmed for Japan. Better import some PSN Cards then (I am) If you can't wait you can try the highly illegal homebrew or play the game via your ps3 (their is a time delay...) Image

To be released in America on March 18th, this is a special collection of the compete playstation collection to get you ready for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, the set contains Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance & Metal Gear Solid 3 : Subsistence (Inc Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, but not MGO) Theirs however no news of any European version currently
22/10/2007: Metal Gear Solid : Mobile Site Up!
As to be expected the Site to mobile game has gone live, doesn't contain much info only that the version coming with the Sony Ericsson W53S will have a Demo version of the game and comes with 4 interchangable MGS themed backs. On the Facts side it stated that game is based between 2005 & 2007 and involves Snake investigating a new Metal Gear for Philanthropy.
03/10/2007: MGS Themed Smash Bros Level Revealed
It was revealed today on the Smash Bros website that the Solid Snake map will be the front of Shadowmoses and will feature destructable scenery. But heres the big thing once the scenery is destroyed either Rex, Ray OR A MGS4 METAL GEAR will appear. No information on what it will be is yet to be revealed.
19/09/2007: Metal Gear Solid : Mobile Worldwide Release!
It was confirmed at a pre TGS Konami press conference that the Mobile Metal Gear shall be getting a worldwide release, good news for those with a NEW mobile... as stated before it will come initially exclusively to a Sony mobile, that being the W53S A new mobile only available in Japan right now that features interchangable backings.

A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 for the Mobile, details on the title and a release date are yet to be supplied, but it will come initially with a Limited Edition Mobile created by Sony Ericsson (Possibly a Walkman type)

Officially today 20 years ago Metal gear was released on the MSX in Japan and the Metal Gear Saga began... Who knew it would have lasted 20 years and its still going strong.

15/05/2007: Metal Gear : The Movie - David Hayter NOT to be involved
IGN is reporting that although Hayter expressed interest in having involvement in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film adaptation, so far to the point of having pitched a treatment to Konami, he will not be working on the film in any way. According to souces David had written a screenplay for the movie but Sony Pictures declined his pitch.

Despite the previous announcement that Sony Pictures Entertainment would be
handling the Metal Gear Solid movie, The Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting
that Columbia Pictures is in talks to aquire the rights to produce the film. But
the shocking part about all this is that Michael De Luca, the man behind such
recent films as 'Zathura: A Space Adventure' and 'Ghost Rider', will be
producing the film with Hideo Kojima acting as executive producer.

According to Gamespot the Metal Gear film shall be produced by Sony Pictures, its also been reported to many fan's relief Kojima Productions will be closely assisting with all the aspects of the film to ensure that the final product will be worthy of the Metal Gear name...

It had to happen, didn't it after the spoof that was shown as TGS 2005, Kojima has commented that enough people want Metal Gear Solid 5, it shall be made. Looks like Raiden will get his own game after all, unless the game revolves around a NEW Snake...

It was on this day 19 years ago that the original Metal Gear was released on the MSX in Japan. To celebrate the anniversary, Konami in partnership with Famitsu have released a special stand alone version of Metal Gear Online.

A big surprise from this years E3 was the revealed fact that Solid Snake will be a playable character in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii!
28/04/2006: Metal Gear Solid Film Confirmed - HideChan! Radio 53
After all the confusion with directors claiming to be doing an MGS film specially Bowe. It was revealed in the HideChan! Radio 53 by Kojima himself that a film is actually in the works!
Sadly no other information is available at the moment...
