KojimaThe Press conference began with Kojima greeting the guests that had attended this event and explained a little about the Metal Gear Saga so far. Going from Metal Gear to Metal Gear Solid 3, Kojima and his colleagues go into detail about the their challaneges with the graphical restictions of the system, the response from trailers especially those at E3 in La and the roll out results for games in all the teritories from Japan, America and eventually Europe...

Then came the first big announcement for: Metal Gear Solid 2 : Digital Graphic Novel via a short 2 minute trailer it appears to be no different to the DGN for Metal Gear, but one big diffence was that this version features Voice Acting. After the trailer was shown it was explained that this was due to sucessful compression which was achieved while creating Metal Gear Portable Ops.

Now on to the meat you've all been waiting for! it was finally time to reveal some new Metal Gear Solid 4 information he confirmed 2 voice actors, Tsukamoto (Apparently a famous Actor) will play Vamp.

Eva's Back!

Then their was a video message from an actress called "Mari Natsuki", she revealed that she would be playing the voice of Eva from Metal Gear Solid 3! For those who don't know "Misa Watanabe" did the original role so expect a deeper more vixen esk voice. For those MGS fact finders, Eva would be 80 in Metal Gear Solid 4, I have to say she looks good for her age...

Moving on now Kojima dims the lights and finally the 15 minute demostation seen at Tokyo Press conference was shown again

Moving on now to the producer of MGO, Mr. Matsuha, takes the stage and demonstrates the new Metal Gear Online, which will be playable for up to 16 people, the demo showed a 6 vs 6, using a system called SOKKU system. It allows you to more clearly get information about your ally characters. This system allows you to see the position of your allies, even through walls. They show up as blue figures. You can even see them when they're in the cardboard box. but not your opponents. If you kill an enemy, you can tap into their information system. You're then able to see the enemies -- if you're the blue team, the enemies show up as red. He then annonces their wil be a Playstation Network BETA! which will run from August 20th til September 3rd. They will accept applications from July 24th till August 6th. BUT it's closed beta, limited to 3,000 people. Check the Kojima Productions website for more info.

Finally was a brief announcement that their will be new mobile version released called Metal Gear Solid : Mobile, they didn't supply much information only that it would come initially on Limited Edtion Sony Ericsson Mobile. The available images surgest a cut down or possibly remade Metal Gear Solid 3.

I hope you enjoyed the presentation...
